EXPANDED TRAINING ON VERMONT'S

2015 RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ENERGY STANDARDS

Wednesday, October 28th

8:00am - 3:30pm

Three Stallion Inn

665 Stock Farm Road

Randolph, VT

DESCRIPTION:

This in-depth training session promises to be informative and practical. The course will start with a review of the 2015 RBES and its significant changes from the 2011 code, then move to an overview and instruction on how to use the free software tool, REScheck to show compliance with RBES. The next part of the session will be spent looking at key situations (wall sections, ventilation, etc.) and reviewing current best practice and building science for both new construction and retrofits. There will also be a discussion of the new "Stretch" code, towns' growing role in compliance certification, and what services Efficiency Vermont provides. The day's session will end with a quick overview of Vermont's other requirements for single family homes (smoke/fire detection, etc).
