Rob is a technical consultant specializing in log and timber construction. He is chair of the ICC IS-LOG Committee responsible for the ICC 400 Standard on the Design & Construction of Log Structures and is a member of the ICC Evaluation Services Advisory Committee. He is the technical advisor for the Log Homes Council of NAHB, and has held many chairs in that organization when in the industry. Rob is an accredited verifier for the NAHB Green Building Program and a 3rd party inspector for the Log Homes Council Log Grading Program. In addition to striving to build the ICC Building Safety Association of Vermont, Rob is contributing to the immergence of the Build Green NH Council of the Home Builders & Remodelers Assoc. of NH. |

Founded in 1994, my architectural firm specializes in traditional and ecologically sound design. I create settings for meaningful public and private life by celebrating craftsmanship, the human spirit, and our connections to family, community, place, and nature. About two-thirds of my practice is residential and one-third is civic or commercial. While most of my work is architectural, I also do village planning, landscape, and furniture design. |

Robert is the Chief Fire Prevention Officer for the Vermont Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire safety. He is a charter member of the National Association of State Fire Marshals and a member of the National Fire Protection Association, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Code Council, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the New England Association of Fire Marshals, the New England Building Code Association and other professional organizations. He is involved with the development and enforcement of the numerous codes adopted by the department and related education and training programs. |

Paul Duane, Planning and Development Mgr. Business Energy Services, VEIC/Efficiency Vermont |
|
Paul is the Planning and Development Manager for commercial new construction in Business Energy Services at the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC), a non-profit consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont. VEIC provides energy efficiency program planning, evaluation, and implementation services to utility, government, and business clients across the US and Canada. The largest of these contracts is Efficiency Vermont, the first statewide energy efficiency utility established in 2000. Paul is a LEED Accredited Professional and Lighting Certified (LC) with a background in mechanical engineering, product design and development, and project management. |

Steve Leinoff, Fire Chief, Norwich Fire Department |
|
Steve is currently the Fire Chief for Norwich. He worked for the Hartford Fire Department for nearly 30 years; The last 22 as Assistant Chief. He was responsible for Hartford’s fire prevention program. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, and holds certifications as an NFPA Level 2 Fire Inspector, Fire protection plan reviewer, VT firefighter 2 and EMT-B. He enjoys golf, skiing, and cooking. |

Ryan Borkowski, Town of Hanover, NH Building Official |
|
Ryan Borkowski is the Building Official for Hanover ,New Hampshire. He also works as a consultant for a variety of building code related concerns in NH and VT. His affinity to the built environment may have started with that first set of Lincoln Logs…But whatever it was, he has spent nearly twenty years in building code enforcement. Ryan has a broad knowledge of the construction process and the application of applicable building and safety code requirements. He carries a deep appreciation that the built environment is a collective process that involves numerous individuals, trades, and interests. Further, he strongly believes that continuous education is a vital key to successful compliance in the regulatory environment. He is certified as an ICC residential and commercial inspector and an active member of several professional organizations including NFPA, ICC, IAEI,NHBOA, ICC, and ICC BSA-VT. |
