Burlington Hosts ICC’s Residential Inspection Institute |

Five days of concentrated code education may seem a bit rigorous, and it was! But the 16 registrants benefitted from experience and knowledge of the instructors (the instructors (John Gibson on structural and life safety – April 19-20, Jerry Flanik on plumbing and mechanical – April 21-22, Keith Lofland on electrical – April 23). Additional benefits came from the good weather in Burlington, good food provided by the Hilton, and a comfortable learning environment. Our farthest voyager came from Elko, Nevada! The Northern-most representative came from Maine, and the closest participants live and work in Burlington! Interest in the course came from inspectors, building officials, an engineer, and home builders. A background of green building was spread through the audience, and the instructors emphasized how key points in the code contribute to green concepts. The 2009 IRC (International Residential Code) is an impressive document! |
